Shocking :Elderly man and woman in time warp

It has been reported that An elderly man and his wife
were shocked to find out that they were living in the
twenty first century. After questioning it seems as the couple were stuck in a time warp and had no idea that it was almost 2010. When questioned the elderly man in his seventies he answered that he had been oblivious to the changes surrounding him until he had been forced to attend the wedding of his friend, MR Akhtar, there he was shocked to find people enjoying themselves, the realisation come to ahead when he saw the daughter in laws of his friend Mr Akhter completely happy and at ease, he learned of her lifestyle and was in disbelief. Apparently he was told that she had her own life and did what she pleased. Akters daughter in law also enjoyed complete freedom in terms of raising her kids and shared an equal relationship with her husband. Akter's daughter in law also disclosed that she had her own space and her inlaws were happy with that setting. the latter seemed to trigger a shock and the the elderly man and his wife have been taken to hospital to recover. Doctors have said that this is not the first case of its kind. Dr Iknowitallandimasian said "I have treated many people who have had this syndrome known as the wewillmakeourdilslifehellitus ( pronounced we will make our daughter in laws life hell itus ) this syndrome is often contracted when a son in a family is married. Studies have shown that it is very predominant amongst Bangladeshi Sylheti families."
Doctors have stated that the man and his wife are stable and have been said to be making good progress.

My ..what a birthday!

so what a day its been so lovely....i woke up to receive endless kisses from my kids and hub!My hub had taken the day off and suggested we go out somewhere nice.... Mil and fil agreed and told him to make sure that he spoilt me rotten! My inlaws got a beautiful salwar kameez for me, they know what i like and it was beautiful. Having dropped one of the kids to school we spent the day togther, I had a facial done, ny hair done ( islamic shop of course) endless presents, shopping, eating and more getting spoilt. At the end of the evening my hub made a lovely dinner for the two of us and the inlaws had kindly opted to babysit the kids whilst we had some time alone, we were joined by them at the end of the evening and guess what they had a lovely fresh cream cake just for me!!........REALITY CHECK!!! shouldnt let me daydream like that so how did it really go....

Hub had a go at me for throwing out stuff which i presumed was rubbish and seemed extremley annoyed. He had spent the previous day running around his family and came home with headcahe. i went upstairs to put kids to sleep ans started watching the drama "my family" little one was being a menace. hub came up and i left him with kids went down stairs and as i entered the kitchen i smelt freshly cooked rice...oh shit! i had forgotten to put the rice on, you see it is my duty to make sure tha the rice pan is a bottomless pit to everyone else. you could cut the tension with a knife. i say to my mil..oh you cooked rice, she looked at me with killer look and said ...was there any more rice to eat????? i explained that the lil one wouldnt sleep and left the room...i was so upset, I forget to put the rice on once and i am made to feel so guilty. i could feel my eyes starting to water.

i contemplated not eating i felt that i wasnt entitled to that rice, but hunger was getting the better of me so i went on the internet for a while, then headed back to the kitchen 10 mins later tidy up....and then can you believe she very calmy told me to eat, wow! she must have thought over how she had reacted. My hub did want to take me out but due to time constraints and inlaw questioning, he did however buy me some lovely gifts. so not all was bad!

make up ....false eye lashes and coloured contacts

I have asked this question to a fellow blogger and i did get a clear answer but there is another aspect that i have been thinking about.

False eyelashes being haraam to wear other than for your hub. is that in light of all make up being for ones husband or is false eye lashes a different aspect altogether?

i mean i know some sisters will say that you shouldnt wear any make up outside the house. then there are sisters who were subtle make up and then there are the not so subtle ones. to be honest here no body would even bat an eye lid if a sister is wearing eyeliner, and light make up, of course anykind of extreme make up does attract attention.

my point is mascara makes eye lashes fuller and longer and can look like false eyelashes, so in that case isnt it the same as false eyelashes... or is it the fact that i have heard that false eyelashes are haraam is because you are adding hair on to your eyes same as wigs.

if anybody has anything interesting on this point plaese let me know.

also what is your opinion on coloured contacts, is that an extension of make up or something should not do.

discipline answer

okay the kid that hit me ........with his bag...
thank you for sharing what you would have done and it was interesting to read what you would have done...its funny how each response made me think about my actions, maybe i was harsh, i did right, maybe i wasnt harsh enough!

what did i do..... well i very firmly and sternly with my finger pointing towards his face said " do not hit me, i would not have my own children hit me let alone anybody elses, it is not a nice thing" his mother told him to apologise and he wouldnt ....he went to hit me again but this time as he raised his hand i again said very firmy "do not hit me" he didnt ..his mum tried to make him apologise but he wouldnt and i told her to leave it. His mum told me that lately he had become very naughty ...i said to her that i hoped she didnt mind me talking to him firmly, and she mentioned methods to calm him down i suggested reading surahs over him.

you see I am sick and tired of being a doormat, i acted on impulse....do you think i was too harsh?
desert monsoon i think what your grandma said rocks!!! kids need to know when they are doing wrong....had the kid been battering his mum up i would not have batted an eyelid..but he HIT ME!!! ( now i sound 5 )

discipline

ok please be completely honest with me!

picture this you are picking your child from school, your muslim friend whom you know just from school and arent the bestest buddies, stops to say salam and for some unknown reason her child lashes out at you and hits you for answering his mothers salam....would you do? how would you have reacted on impulse?

A) you smile and think nothing of it

B) you smile whilst hiding the fact that if you could get your hands on the rascal he would never dare lift a finger to anyone

c) you reprimand him, tell the child that was not the correct aprroach

D) hit the child with the same instrument he used to hit you.

E) something completely different ( plaese state what you would have done though)

so what would you have honestly done?

Boys versus girls

salam hope all is well with everyone.
In the uk they are airing this docu/drama it is basically a fly on the wall about a asian family and their day to day lives. last weeks episode saw the family receive the news that their pregnant daughter who had her scan and was told she was having a boy. I loved the reaction to the news, they were all crying their eyes out and thanking God...( they already have a little girl) i was wondering whether it would have been the same reaction if they had a boy and recieved news that it was a girl???

bangladeshi families love their boys, you really have achieved something if you have given birth to a penis!!! i can remember once my fil almost jumped out of his skin when he received news of his daugter giving birth to a boy...and to top it off he was white!

if you hear of them talk about a particular person.... she has three daughters with a hint of sadness ...but three boys...how lucky she was to be blessed with 3 boys.

Funny thing is every boy in this family has left their parents ( with the exception of my hub!)
so much for the son taking care of them in their old age and providing for them...WAKE UP!

Assalamualykum,
I am back after what seems ages and it kinda feels wierd to be writing, this post is to say that I am alive and well Mashallah. I am taking a different stance with regards to blogging but inshallah i will write about that more in another post. If you remember one of the things that i was concerned about was that i felt that i had to supress some feelings and emotions when writing, that i wanted to write more freely, well inshallah i plan to go private so this is to say that if you wish to be added to my list then tell me at this address bangladeshiwife@live.co.uk and i will add you to my list of readers when i come back to writing.

Thats all folks!

bye

To my followers, my friends - Goodbye, take care!

Explanation......and rather a long one too!

Assalamuaalykum,

To everyone who left comments on my last post i think you all deserve an explanation at the least, as this has come out of the blue.

I cant be exactly who I want because i am worried about being found out, the thing is i think about consequences, but there is nothing that people can actually do to me apart from give me the cold shoulder and for what? writing what I feel due to their actions....but it still bothers me. There is so much That I have in this heart of mine and I want to talk about it on my blog but the thing is it will give me away, I don't know who will be reading it. I get mini heart attacks when I see people from my neighbouring town visit...I just don't know what to do!

I have met so many diverse people on my blog, I have muslims and non muslims, I have make up artists, reverts, from so many backgrounds and if you know me then you will know I admire people who have reverted to Islam......so amazing, belly dancers, other religious groups, teenagers, mums and a few male readers too, and I think it is wonderful, I love variety and diversity, and without this blog I would not have met anybody. I did not think for a minute when I started writing this blog to myself that I would meet so many wonderful people. That is the disadvantage of going private. I really love my readers, some of the advice given believe it or not I have followed. There are some beautiful people that I have grown to love who have followed me on my journey, it has been around about 8 months I think could be 9. This blog has helped me vent my anger and refresh my mind, by writing and reading I am stopping my mind from turning into mush. I felt so down writing what i did yesterday and believe me your comments were so touching and I almost wanted to say....stop im not going anywhere!

I myself had thought when Sarah from faith in writing had said a while back that she was going to close her blog, how horrible i would feel if Sarah were to do that, and then I was thinking of other sisters that I have grown close to how I would hate it if they suddenly said good bye. ....I hate goodbyes....

My time at my mums is nearing its end and I feel sick at the thought of having to go back to my in laws house, how can I explain the feeling to you : dread, queasiness, sorrow. I know I will just fall into my stupid depression, I have enjoyed just writing normal nice things and going back there, you sisters will only find me blogging about depressing mundane things... ( see I think about your welfare)

The above things have been on my mind for a long time but yesterday I had no intention of saying what I did, when I woke up in the morning.............then i started to read some peoples blogs etc that are not on my blog list and I wish i never had stepped out of my little circle, because as I kept going I was shocked to say the least about what people were saying, it disillusioned me to hear what muslims were saying about fellow muslims.

Okay I believe that on your own blog you have the right to say what you want, people can like it or lump it, on the same reasoning I believe that people have the right to respond to something as they please, whether its liked or not, but to have someone ripped apart, I cant deal with, to have someone call someone disgusting names is atrocious. I felt really really upset, especially since I knew and like the person in question, it really hurt to read and may Allah give her the strength to stay strong.

I wish I could write freely to you all without the worry, I want to tell you all how everything happened what made me this person that I am. Do you sisters understand my dilemma? I do want to write....but i want to write without editing, i want to write uncut versions. .... please advise me what the best approach is. I will however be taking a break from it just till I can feel good about the whole blogging world. I am so so so sorry to my recent followers on this blog and my health blog, who have joined and now Im going, please hang on until I have cleared my head a bit. Just want you to know I LOVE YOU ALL, warts and all :)

Au revoir

Assalamualikum sisters,
I hope that everyone is well, Thank you to everyone who has found me and followed me through my life's trial, I appreciate all the comments, the prayers, the advice that my sisters have taken time to give to me and I have come to become very fond of each of you. But I am at a point in my life where I am unsure about who I am and what I want to do with my life... i am unsure about this blogging world, where people end up misunderstanding others, myself included, because things are taken in the wrong way or said without much thought attached, but meaning no harm. I want to say goodbye to you all, and that I have enjoyed knowing you, - I want to discover who I am and what I stand for, I have to face my fears and my insecurities and most of all I want to workout out how to be a Good muslim, a good wife and mother. I dont know if i want to make this a permanent goodbye or a temporary break, I will think about it and get back to you all Inshallah Tonight after I break my fast and relax and think over things.

lots of love, duaas and best wishes
Queen

Equipment Needed:

  • 1 grumpy father in law
  • 1 control freak mother in law

  • stone grinder
  • metallic garlic crusher
  • Pots and pans with wooden stirring instruments ( can be obtained in various sizes, for maximum results use the largest available)
  • hoover ( preferably an old one that does not work properly so that you need to redo the job again with a dustpan and brush)

1)To tone upper arms and tummy:

this ancient method of grinding spices will ensure that your upper arms are super toned, place spices in the middle, take a deep breath and grind!( this needs to be done on a daily basis for maximum results)
